मीच त्याचं बोट धरलं

माझ्या तीन वर्षाच्या मुलाने

माझं बोट धरून फिरायला नेण्याचा

हट्ट धरला म्हणून घेऊन गेलो

चौकातली मस्जिद पाहून

तो म्हणाला, काय आहे ?

मी म्हणालो, अल्लाहाचं घर

पुढे दुसर्‍या चौकात मंदिर पाहून

तोचं म्हणाला, अब्बू, अल्लाहाचं घर

तेव्हा मात्र मी निशब्द..निरुत्तर

त्याच्या हातून माझं बोट काढून घेतलं

अन् मीच त्याचं बोट धरलं

I took my little child

On walk as he  urged

Holding my finger.

Seeing the mosque

'What's it?' He  asked

'Allah's Abode.' I replied

Seeing the temple at next square

He  pointed, ' Abbu, Allah's Abode.'

At this I became speechless.

And from his  hand I took out my finger , I look

For his  finger to grip.
