Film Review

Write a review of the film that you have watched. Give details about the film using following supporting points

✅ Title of the film
✅ The star cast
✅ The central idea
✅ The reason you like the film
✅ The message given

Story: Rancho(Amir Khan) , Raju and Farhan enter the best engineering college. They want to learn lessons of life. It cannot be taught through books and classrooms. Principal Viru Sahastrabuddhe is no help at all.He believes in enforcing knowledge and information.

Movie Review:  It is indeed a great movie getting the seetis and taalis. It is a movie reflecting educational system and parental aspirations.
The three idiots, Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad (Aamir Khan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi) and Farhan Qureshi (R Madhavan), are perfect revolutionist of the new age Indian. They choose to live life on their own terms. They pave new roads deviating from the rat race. Naturally, they end up heroes taking the road less travelled by.
The film begins with the entry of our threesome in the city's elite engineering college. They face the mandatory ragging sessions. New entrant Ranccho becomes leader . Rancho not only leads his friends through the maze of India's competitive and high-pressure education system but also he tutors them on several life mantras.

So, you have the threesome in a confrontation with authority, as represented through the Viru Sahastrabuddhe (Boman Irani), the unsmiling Principal. He advocates to kill the competition, because there is only one place at the top. Students like Chatur (Omi) end up as duhs in real life and non-conformists (Rancho ), could end up as eventual winners. More importantly, they could be high not only in IQ (intelligence quotient) but in EQ (emotional quotient) too, never losing their humaneness and social networking skills.
The high point of the film is the fact that director Rajkumar Hirani says so much, without losing his sense of humour. The film keeps audience laughing despite being high on fundas. Certain sequences almost have you rolling in the aisle, like the ragging sequence, Omi's chamatkar/balatkar speech, the threesome's wedding crasher sequence, their mournful meal with Raju's mournful mum and Rancho's sundry demos to prove how Kareena has chosen the wrong guy for herself. The second half of the film does falter in parts, specially the child birth sequence.

Amongst the performances, Aamir Khan is stupendous as the rule-breaker Rancho. But the rest of the cast doesn't remain in the shadows. Both Sharman and Madhavan manage to carve their independent characters as lovable rebels too. Even Kareena shines out, despite her short role. A special mention for Boman Irani who is impeccable as `Virus', newcomer Omi who perfectly slips into the stereotype of the best.
Story: Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi script a warm and rude education system that prepares rats for a rat race.
Dialogue: Witty and wild, the film walks away with the best comic scene of the year citation with its uproarious `balatkar' speech.

Music: The songs do come alive on screen, specially Zoobie-Doobie and Aal Izz Well.

Choreography: Nice one .

Cinematography: The streets of Delhi and the picture postcard beauty of Ladakh are captured.

What is soil? The original materials from which it has been formed through long ages are the earth's crust. There are three kinds of rocks, made in three different ways. Igneous rocks were made when the molten material of which the earth consisted long ago become cooler and solidified; granite, a very hard rock, is one of these. Another kind of rock is sedimentary rock, formed when rivers brought down small pieces of material with them as they flowed into the sea. The matter which they brought down with them fell to the bottoms of the sea, and this sediment was slowly pressed and cemented together by other substances into rock. Then the crust of the earth moved; the bottoms of the seas were raised, and when they reached a sufficient height become dry land. Sedimentary rocks found in all kinds of places, even on high mountains. Shale, limestone, and chalk are sedimentary rocks.
The third kind of rock is metaphoric, a rock which has been made by change due to heat. This was formed, for instance, when the lava thrown out by volcanoes affected the material over which it flowed. The heat changed the surface underneath and produced different kinds of rocks, of which slate and marble are two.

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) which is located at Trombay in Mumbai,
was the brainchild of Dr. Homi Bhabha, the father of India’s nuclear programme. Dr. Bhabha
took a personal interest in designing the centre because he felt that with an indigenous
nuclear programme India would become a powerful nation. This centre, which was started
on January 3, 1954, was originally called the Atomic Energy Establishment. It was renamed
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre on January 12, 1966 after Dr. Bhabha’s death.
Over the years, BARC has done work in different scientific disciplines, including
medicine and agriculture. BARC has played a major role in increasing the share of the
nuclear power programme for generating electricity and lighting up the rural areas of
the country. BARC is, however, chiefly known for successfully conducting the Pokhran
tests both in May 1974 and May 1998.

Flowering plants are of various types. Herbaceous flowering plants grow, set seed
and die within one year; biennial plant complete their life cycles in two years;
Perennials on the other hand, can live and grow for many years once they have been
planted. Plants that flourish and flower during the rainy season are mostly herbaceous
annuals such as the Aster, Zinnia, and Sweet pea. Of the herbaceous perennials the most
common are members of the Daisy family. The beautifully scented Rose and Jasmine
are both Woody and Semi-Woody perennials. There are two other types of plants;
bulbous plants and aquatic plants. The former grow from bulbs and tubers planted in the
ground; examples of this type are Gladiolus and Tulip. The latter, as their name
suggests, grow in water, the most exquisite example being the Lotus or Water Lily. Both
bulbous and aquatic plants are usually perennials.

Que-1 - Draw a table diagram to represent the information given in the following passage.

There are many different kinds of musical instruments. They are divided into three main classes according to the way that they are played. For example, some instruments are played by blowing air into them. These are called wind instruments. In some of these the air is made to vibrate inside a wooden tube, and these are said to be of the woodwind family. Examples of woodwind instruments are the flute, the clarinet and the bassoon. Other instruments are made of brass, the trumpet and the horn, for example. There are also various other wind instruments like such as the mouth organ and the bagpipes.
Some instruments are played by banging or striking them. One obvious example is the drum, of which there are various kinds. Instruments like this are called percussion instruments.
The last big group of musical instruments are the ones which have strings. There are two main kinds of stringed instrument those in which the music is made by plucking the strings, and those where the player draws a bow across the strings. Never, ever start any workout, even if it is just walking, without warming up first. And this is where most people try to take a shortcut. Warming up prepares your whole system for extra activity ahead. Ina resting state, muscles are short and somewhat stiff. Making sudden demands on them can muse a pulled muscles or a strained back. Warming up stretches muscles and loosens joints, so your body performs with better flexibility and speed. It gradually increases blood supply to the heart and makes the lungs ready to operate at full capacity, reducing the risk of sudden strain
What counts as a good warm up? No mater what your main exercise is, experts insist that you take two or three minutes to loosen up, rotating the joints and gently stretching muscles. Start the sport or workout in lower gear, using the same movements that you expect of use later Build up for a few minute still you are breathing slightly faster and perspiring lightly. At this point, you are warmed up.

Que 5 Make a summary of the passage highlighting Rabindranath Tagore's views on education.

Rabindranath took great pains to gather round him as teachers a group of young men who really understood what he was trying to do in his school and who would know how to teach children literature, or science, or history in a way which made these subjects alive and interesting. He knew by his own experience that all knowledge about the world we live in, and about the men who live in it is interesting to children, if only it is taught to them in the right way. A boy puts tremendous energy and enthusiasm into his play and hobbies, because he is working at something in which he is deeply interested and which he has chosen for himself. Rabindranath wanted to remove all false distinctions between work and pay and encourage the boys to put the some energy and enjoyment into all the activities -of their life

Speech Writing

1.Speech on World Literacy Day

Good evening, honourable dignitaries of the dais, the president of the function hon. Mr. B.B. Patil, hon. Principal,  Mahatma Gandhi College of Science, Gadchandur, respected teachers, dear friends,  Today the 8 th September is being celebrated as the World Literacy Day all over the world. As per the report of the global monitoring, it has been observed that one among every 5 men and two third women are illiterate. Hence, to increase the literacy rate World Literacy Day is celebrated Literacy is wide open door to the knowledge . In an earlier era literacy was considered as privilege of upper classes and sin for the masses. With the efforts of revolutionary social workers, the closed windows and doors of knowledge, education, and literacy were flung opened. Today we breathe democracy almost all over the world. Other forms of government in the world also opened the doors of education and literacy. The importance of literacy is far beyond the imagination. The spread of literacy among the women of the world is not at par. The awareness programs for this have to organised. Celebrating World Literacy Day can be a part of it. The real celebration will be on that day when no woman is deprived of education. I have to conclude my speech here. Thanks for availing opportunity of being part of this grand program.

2.Speech on Students' Day

Respected Principal, honourable teachers and dear students, I feel proud to speak on such a great occasion.  We are gathered here to celebrate  November 7 as ‘Students’ Day’, to mark Dr B R Ambedkar’s entry into school education 117 years back in 1900.  Babasaheb's  enrolment in school was the dawn of a new era. It was because of the Constitution given by Dr Ambedkar to the nation that the values of freedom, equality, brotherhood and rule of law took roots in the society.Hence the enrolment of Dr B R Ambedkar as a student in the school is a landmark event and proves to be one that changed the course of our history. Dr Ambedkar was a life-long student and cultivated his interest to learn throughout his life. Friends,it is rightly said that every student is the future of the country and education is the only means for progress. The very purpose of observing this day as Students' Day is  to make the students aware that hard work alone can ensure their progress.Dr Ambedkar enrolled as a student on November 7, 1900 at Pratapsingh High School in the state’s Satara district. He started his schooling in a hostile condition. He set an example for students how much, how far and how long one can study. He is an inspiration for all . Nothing can prevent from studying. Should we give excuses for not preparing due to power failure? My dear colleagues, Babasaheb used to study sitting under the lamp post. Who doesn't know this ? Being a student I am very much delighted to be a witness of Students' Day celebration. I have to take leave of you as many other students are going share their views. Thanks for listening me peacefully.

   3.   SAVE ENVIRONMENT SAVE HUMAN BEING .

     --------------------------------------------
Honourable  chairperson, chief guests, and the dignitaries as well as the most respected dear students .
Friends, we commemorate so many special days such as Republic day, Independence day, World literary day and so on . But well here is one day that deserves  not only commemoration but our total dedication --- world environment Day, 5 June .Today we are celebrating the world environment day in our college. As a student we all know the importance of the day. Every year on this day  we celebrate the programme in our college to create awareness  in the minds of  our friends , neighbours , our companions and those who live in our surroundings .
friends our mother earth has made our life worth living,  trees and plants provide us everything .Not only oxygen but also everything ,you name it and you will find its source in the nature .friends  we have learnt the poem 'The felling of the banyan tree '.We learnt that how the devotees of materialism have ruined the beauty of the nature, they have not only ruined the beauty of the nature but also polluted the atmosphere of the world .I'm saying here 'the world ' because they are many in number . In this poem we learnt fifty men chopped the trunk of the tree, through this we can measure the intensity  of their  destructive attitude , really it is a fearful thing no less horrible . And if it goes on ..... one day we will have to leave this world for ever .
friends ,  think of our next generation . Today we say that had our ancestors paid heed to the family planning like programmes we wound not have to face the problems we are facing today.   But whatever it may be , we have to set the things straight . Today we all have to make a commitment to plant as many trees as we can. And let's take care that they  are grown.
Make awareness about it .Mobilize people for this greater cause. Friends it's not the environment you will be protcting  ... You are protecting your own life and the lives of your beloved ones.
  Thank you  ...

Save Environment is prepared by

It is one of India’s 47 project tiger reserves existing in India. It lies in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state. This beautiful wild paradise is situated 45 km close to Chandrapur District of central Indian State Maharashtra, and is about 150 km from Nagpur city which is the nearest airport for visiting Tadoba national park. Its name 'Tadoba' is derived from the name of God "Tadoba" or "Taru" whiich is praised by local tribal people, whereas "Andhari" is derived from name of Andhari river. It is believed that Taru was the village chief who was killed in an fierce encounter with Tiger and thus a shrine was made in remembrance of God Taru. This region was predominantly ruled by Gond tribes which had their own Kingdom in large area of Central India. Their descendents are still can be seen in local villages. Tadoba national park is open for visitors from 15-Oct to 30-June every season. Despite of this, limited safari is possible from 01-Oct on current booking basis. Tadoba national park remains open for all 07 days in a week.Till now, it remains closed on every Tuesday but as per new rule, it will remain open on Tuesday also. These lakes are also the prime residential place for marsh crocodiles, those were knowing once to spread in across Maharashtra. Major part of this forest is thrived in hilly area; it covers the Chimur Hills, and Andhari sanctuary covers Moharali & Kolsa ranges, so many hillocks, terrains provide shelter to wild animals, since it is considered that this park has a great accessibility & sighting of many wild beasts, wild-lovers from many parts of the country & world arrives here. Dear Reshma,
Heartiest congratulation on your brilliant success in S.S.C. examination .I am proud of you. In your earlier letter you have mentioned about your illness during the examination. You have beaten the hardship. You have sought distinction in the exam so it will be easy for you to get admission in the college of your choice.  You should remember one thing .Study keep mental intact. Playing and exercise maintain physical health. Skipping exercise and play for study,  is not a worthy idea. It make us ill at the eleventh hour.

Sub:- write up on ‘should there be laws on to force children to look after their parents?
   Sir,
As per your appeal, I forward my write up. Looking after old parents is must. But by laws, no way. The care and worry for the parents should be heartfelt. The law will compel the children to keep parents at the home but not at heart. No court can make children feel worried about their parent. Law helps those who make complaint. Would parents take legal action against children? They would prefer to suffer. Values are not taught, these are to be caught . Elderly people should be well protected and given the due care . It is the responsibility of the children . If any youth does not bother to look after his parents, instead of punishing that youth , his parents should be given helping hand by govt. or NGO. the government should open old age security home.Enforced help will do no better job.
Kindly publish my views in your esteem newspaper

Thanking you,

 Yours obediently,
